The Fall Dance Concert opens with a premiere by Carter Alexander, Artist-in-Residence in the Division of Dance. Alexander will choreograph a new ballet to Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8. Guest artist Crystal Frazier, on faculty at Point Park University, will create a new hip-hop piece. The program closes with Paul Taylor’s seminal work Esplanade, with music by Johann Sebastian Bach, restaged by Paul Taylor Dance Company/Meadows Dance alum Parisa Khobdeh. Alexander’s new work and Taylor’s Esplanade will be performed live by musicians from Meadows’ Division of Music.
