Visiting Artist Lecture: Stefan Chinov

O'Donnell Hall / Owen Arts Center

7:00 p.m.

Join the Division of Art for an in-depth look into a visiting artist's work during our monthly Visiting Artist Lecture Series. This series offers a unique opportunity for the public to engage with renowned artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines as they share their expertise, accompanied by a showcase of their artworks. It helps provide an intimate glimpse into their creative process and the stories that fuel their work.

This month’s lecture will have artist Stefan Chinov discussing his work and practice. Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Chinov holds an M.A. from the National Academy of the Arts in Sofia and an M.F.A. from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. His work has been shown across the United States and internationally, including the Sculpture Center in Cleveland, OH, Tigre Museum of Art in Argentina and Sofia University Gallery. He has completed residency fellowships and projects in the United States, Antarctica, Turkey, Israel and Spain. Currently, Chinov teaches sculpture and drawing at Wright State University in Dayton, OH.

And don’t forget to join us for our next Visiting Artist Lecture Series events on Wednesday, November 1 with Tamiko Kawata!
