SMU, though it is a beautiful campus, is not a very big one, which is fortunate when you oversleep your 8 a.m. class on Monday because you failed to make it to bed at a reasonable hour the night before. But, it would be even easier to make it to class on time if you had a bike, which is where the SMU Outdoor Adventures Bike Lease Project steps in.

Students can enter a lottery to rent an SMU Mustangs Cruiser single speed bike for an entire semester for only $15. The bikes were provided by SMU alumni Christopher and Jennifer Miller in hopes of enhancing the campus community and making the campus a little greener.

The last day to apply for a rental bike is Friday, August 16 at 4:00 p.m. Preference will be given to students living on campus but commuter students are invited to submit their name just the same. Outdoor Adventures provides preventative and minor maintenance at no charge.
