Every year is filled with its good and bad times and 2011 is no different. Every year also seems to drag on at times and then passes in a flash a moment later. To celebrate the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012, the City of Dallas is inviting all its residents to the Big D NYE Party at Victory Park and AT&T Plaza on Saturday, December 31.

Big D NYE is an outdoor Times Square-type experience like none other in the area. The event will boast gigantic HD video screens, live music special celebrity guests and one of the largest New Year's fireworks displays in the nation. And best of all, this entire event is free for everyone to attend.

The party and live music begins at 7:45 p.m. with Prophets and Outlaws performing on the Big D NYE stage. Other bands that will follow include Good Shive Low, Sleeperstar, and Good Question Band. However, this event does draw massive crowds, so it's a good idea to get here early to grab a good spot. And don't worry about food either, as Big D NYE has everyone covered with some of Dallas' best food trucks providing food all night long.

The easiest way to get to Victory Station is via the DART light rail. Take the train to Victory Station at the American Airlines Center and the rest of your night will consist of music, food and fun. For those that prefer to drive, the American Airlines parking lots will be limited until 10:30 p.m due to the Dallas Stars game.
