The SMU football regular season has ended and the team won't be playing on the field again until January, but any football fans craving some action can check out a clash between two high school football powerhouses at Gerald J. Ford Stadium on Saturday, January 10 at 4:00 p.m. Texas No. 1 Skyline High School will take on No. 2 Southlake Carroll for a place in the Class 5A Division I state championship.

Both Skyline and Southlake Carroll are undefeated (14-0) on the season but their experience in late season playoff games differ wildly. Southlake Carroll, in an impressive span of five years from 2002 to 2006, won four state football championships and has won seven in school history. On the other hand, no Dallas ISD school - including Skyline - has won a state championship since 1950.

The winner of this game will be playing for the state championship at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington on Saturday, December 17.
