“Mason Magic” will feature the music of a dynamic young composer and conductor, SMU Meadows’ own Quinn Mason! Mason’s meteoric rise has been nothing short of astounding to those who remember the quiet, humble young man who studied composition and conducting at the Meadows School a few years ago. He has written music on commission for some of the world’s great orchestras including the San Francisco, Cincinnati, National, and Dallas Symphony Orchestras, Buffalo Philharmonic, and many others. In addition, he as guest conducted an equally impressive list of leading orchestras including the National Symphony, Houston Ballet, West Virginia Symphony, Hartford Symphony and others.
“Mason Magic” will include performances of his Symphony No. 4, written for the MWE, and Arts District Fanfare, as well as Igor Stravinsky’s Octet for Winds. The program will also include a work by one of Mason’s former teachers, Robert Frank’s Metallic Origami. Plan to help the students, staff and faculty of the Meadows School welcome Quinn Mason “home!”
