  BB 127 (1945) Beethoven - Symphony No.6\, op.68\, F major (Pastorale) (18
 08) This concert is largely associated with nature. D'un matin de printemp
s is concerned with spring and morning\, and is decidedly French in its co
mposition. It was one of the last completed works of Lili Boulanger who di
ed at 24. The Bartok Piano Concerto\, while not explicitly about nature\,
is light\, airy\, and utilizes Hungarian folk tunes. Beethoven named his
sixth symphony the Pastorale\, and it is the only symphony of his that is
programmatic (music that exists to tell a narrative). The names of the in
dividual movements are: \nI - Awakening of cheerful feelings on arrival in
the countryside \nII - Scene by the brook \nIII - Merry gathering of coun
try folk \nIV - The Storm \nV - Shepherd's song. Cheerful and thankful fee
lings after the storm \n  \nTo purchase tickets online\, please visit http
