Julie Faust Pippin (HPHS class of '88/ SMU class of '93) and her husband, Ron Pippin, are kicking off a new project called ARTtv.
The Pippin family is on a mission: to bring art to all kids! Arts funding is continually being cut from schools. They firmly believe art matters for all of us, and that we need to inspire our young people to grow as creators and critical thinkers.
Ron is the Creative Director and founder of a nationally-recognized Austin-based production company, SHINY OBJECT. Julie is a advertising content producer and voice over actor. Together, they have been working in advertising, making commercials, videos, and short films, for more than 20 years. Through their work, they cultivate a community of brilliant artists, filmmakers, writers, musicians, and photographers. With their help, four years ago they started a creative community, OUTSIDE VOICE, to make meaningful content for families. They are excited to take the next step with ARTtv - an intelligent, wildly imaginative creative arts web show for kids.
"As parents, we long for something worthwhile for our kids to watch when they are online. And as they grow, we’re noticing a huge gap in quality content. So Ron and I are creating something fresh, hilarious and inspiring...something that will ignite our kids' natural desire to create," says Pippin. "Our early inspirations were imaginative shows like Pee Wee's Playhouse, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Schoolhouse Rock, Monty Python, and the early years of MTV. We want to make a creative arts web show that is cool and engaging that kids and parents alike will enjoy. And we need $50,000 to build this project".
The Pippins are raising some seed money to get this project off the ground through INDIEGOGO. Their campaign page can been seen here:

"I hope you will give what you can, and most importantly, spread the word! E-mails to true believers like you will help us create an even bigger movement."
So far, 141 believers have helped them raise $13,250. But this is an ALL OR NOTHING funding effort. And with only two weeks to go in their online fundraising campign, they need your help now!
