FOX Sports Southwest will shoot a commercial created by SMU Cox School of Business sports marketing students. The spot will be filmed at two Dallas residences and will be entirely a student-created project.

FOX Sports Southwest’s college football marketing campaign this fall is designed to transform viewers’ living rooms into Sofa Stadium: The Best Seat in the House. The campaign is a result of the 2013 Spring FOX Sports Creative University program in partnership with Southern Methodist University.

Creative University is a program that FOX Sports developed with prestigious academic and athletic institutions from around the country. The program cultivates creative minds of the future and provides real life applications of what students are learning in the classroom. As their Spring 2013 class project, SMU’s Cox School of Business sports marketing students were tasked with developing a marketing/branding campaign for FOX Sports Southwest’s regional college football coverage of the Big 12 and Conference USA.

Four teams of students developed agency-level pitches and presented FOX Sports executives with creative concepts. The winning team designed the Sofa Stadium concept and the FOX Sports Southwest creative marketing team will bring it to life in a multi-platform campaign. Members of the winning team will be on site at a commercial shoot to be held Friday, July 19. More information on the FOX Sports Creative University program can be found here.
