Innovation Event Draws Global Leaders to Dallas, SMU

The second annual Engineering & Humanity week kicks off on Monday, April 16 in Dallas and leaders from across the globe will be in attendance. The event will last from April 16-20 and will be at various locations across Dallas, including the Southern Methodist University campus and satellite locations.

The program is free and open to any individuals and will help businesses, professionals and students engage in the process of changing the world through technology and innovation. There will be in-depth exposure to global economics, cultural awareness, collaborative leadership and principles of stability.

Engineering & Humanity Week is sponsored by Hunter and Stephanie Hunt, the Hunt Institute for Engineering and Humanity at SMU's Lyle School of Engineering and co-hosted with the University of Oxford's Refugee Studies Center.

"The week will showcase the power of engineering and innovation. Tackling poverty locally and abroad will require finding practical solution, engaging in collaboration with partners, and learning how to adapt quickly as innovative solution fail or succeed," said Stephanie Hunt. "We think everyone who participates will be better equipped to fight poverty and find sustainable solutions that will benefit all parties involved."
