Dust off your long, sweeping dresses and flower crowns because the Dallas music scene just got another addition — the Bulladora Music Experience, scheduled for June 4 & 5. Billed to be just about as different as anything that has ever been done in Dallas, the organizers said, “The type of event we were craving didn’t exist here, so we set out to create it. Something with great music, but also imagination and whimsy. We’re dressing pugs in wings and horns for a Pugasus Petting Zoo…this isn’t your average festival.”

Based in Dallas, co-founders Josh Harris and Zac Miller are expecting as many as 5,000 people in attendance at Reverchon Park for the event.

The headliner bands will include Yeasayer and AlunaGeorge.

The festival is exclusively for Dallas. Bulladora Creative Director Kristin Miller said, “We feel that Dallas is really thriving with young talent and creative energy right now, but there's not an overarching entertainment event that speaks to this. We are filling that gap in the market for a high-energy, inclusive celebration for all the young people of Dallas.”

Miller said the organizers are aiming for an event with the spirit and vision of Coachella or Bonnaroo, “but are in no way trying to imitate these festivals in size or style,” she added. “We want to create something that is spectacular, yet intimate — in a way we feel is very fitting to Dallas.”

As for the headlining bands, Yeasayer is a Brooklyn-based experimental electro rock band with ever-evolving influences that include African drumbeats, Bollywood, and pop. AlunaGeorge is an English electronic music duo from London with R&B, hip-hop, house and pop influences.

“Everything we do has a unique twist that makes it a little different, and we don't shy away from elements of surprise or spontaneity,” Miller says. “Our stage design and decor, progressive lineup, and activities are all well thought out and meant to inspire curiosity and wonder.”

Along with Yeasayer and AlunaGeorge there will also be a full roster of talent that includes Washed Out, Cheat Codes, MOTHXR, JR JR, Shamir, POWERS, XYLØ, Great Good Fine Ok, Paperwhite and Lostboycrow. A second stage will showcase local talent. Between main stage sets, attendees can also enjoy hot air balloon rides, lawn games, a pug petting zoo, an interactive art wall and a free documentary screening on Friday night.

Planning to make this an annual event, Miller concluded by saying, “Our foundation is music, but Bulladora is about providing a truly memorable overall experience. With a boutique mindset, we approach every detail with imagination to make it as much fun as possible. Bulladora will be a true convergence of all the best creative elements in Dallas.”

General Admission single day passes are $49 and weekend passes start at $99. For more details and to buy tickets visit www.bulladora.com.
