JULY 2
Fire Alarm
The University Park Fire Department responded to an active fire alarm at 9:43 p.m. at Shuttles Hall because the occupants sprayed a "large amount of air freshener that set off the smoke detector and activated the fire alarm," but there was no smoke or fire.
JULY 4
Public Intoxication
A student was arrested at 4:42 a.m. off campus in 2600 block of Routh Street by the Dallas Police Department for being intoxicated in a public place and was referred to the Student Conduct Office.
JULY 5
Fire Alarm
Officers responded to a fire alarm at 3:06 p.m. in the Moody Parking Garage, which is under construction and closed to the public, but there was no smoke or fire, so the alarm was reset.
JULY 6
Striking Fixture/Highway Landscaping
It was reported at 7:43 a.m. that an unknown vehicle struck a chain link fence at a construction site in the 6100 block of Airline and a "large section of the fence was damaged and will have to be replaced."
JULY 10
Fire Alarm
The University Park Fire Department responded to an active fire alarm at 8:58 p.m. at a building in the 3000 block of SMU Boulevard, which had an odor of smoke that "appeared to be electrical in nature." The building's power was shut off, but the Fire Department was unable to find the cause, so Facility Services was notified, and the "power will remain off until it can be fixed."
