Southern Methodist University (July 26-Aug. 5)
A fire alarm went off at 10:55 p.m. in the 3000 block of SMU Boulevard, so SMU officers and the University Park Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.
Off Campus-Criminal Incident/Public Intoxication
A University Park police officer issued a student a Public Intoxication citation at 3:30 a.m., and SMU's Student Conduct Office was notified about the incident.
SMU officers and the University Park Fire Department were dispatched at 3:30 a.m. to the 3000 block of Daniel Avenue. because of a fire alarm. The officers detected a gas odor but were unable to find the source of the smell, so the gas was turned off until it could be inspected by technicians.
A man who is not affiliated with the University almost struck construction equipment with his vehicle, so he was arrested and taken to the Dallas County Jail at 2:13 a.m. for Driving While Intoxicated.
Someone made a report about a "suspicious person," so SMU and University Park officers responded and discovered a man who had an active criminal trespass warning, so he was arrested and taken to Dallas County Jail.
